SoundDNA Playlist Analyzer
Your musical DNA from your playlists
Load your Spotify or Apple Music listening-history export and see your longest-listened artists, genres, the hours you live with music — and how many days of your life belong to it.
The analysis is a reward for a completed test
The report is free. You give back 15 minutes — a diligently completed test is your contribution to our study. The code from the screen after the test unlocks the analysis for 45 days.
Take the test and collect your code →Go to the SoundDNA websiteOrder your file now — the code will wait
The file usually takes the service a few days to prepare, and the test code is valid for 45 days — order the file now, take the test in the meantime, and once both are ready the analysis takes moments.
- Go to spotify.com/account/privacy and log in. This works in the browser (on your phone too) — you won't find it in the Spotify app.
- Scroll down to “Download your data”.
- Tick two boxes: Account data (last year's history, arrives sooner) and Extended streaming history (your full history since the account was created). We support both — if the first one arrives sooner, don't wait for the other. Skip “Technical information” — there's nothing about music in it.
- Click “Request data” and confirm via the link in your e-mail — the request won't start without it. This is the most commonly missed step!
- Wait for the “Your data is ready” e-mail (usually a few days). ⏳ Spotify's download link expires after 14 days — download right away.
- Come back here and load the downloaded ZIP above (no need to unpack it).
- Instructions verified: 13.07.2026. Spotify occasionally changes its pages — if something doesn't match, let us know and we'll fix it.

Frequently asked questions
Will Spotify / Apple know it's for SoundDNA? No. You're requesting your own copy of your data from the service — we take no part in it and receive nothing from them.
What exactly is in the export file? Your plays: artist, track, duration and moment of playback. Spotify's extended export also contains e.g. IP addresses — one more reason it matters that nothing from it is sent anywhere.
How can I check that you really send nothing? Open your browser's developer tools (F12 or right-click → “Inspect”), the “Network” tab, and load the file. You'll see that no request with your data leaves your device.
I use YouTube Music / Amazon Music. For now we support Spotify and Apple Music — other services' exports don't include playback durations, so the statistics would be lame.
